Evangelical christian church in Bolzano

Who we are

We are evangelical christians because we found our faith on the message of the Gospel (Evangel), the Good News, as it is presented in the Bible.
In every age there have been authentic Christians who have longed for a return to the Gospel, to its purity and sufficiency.  This is what we desire, too.

What we believe in

We believe in God the Father as he has been revealed in the Scriptures.
We believe in Jesus Christ, the Eternal Son of God, and in the Holy Spirit who performs the work of renewal and transformation in our lives.
We believe that Jesus of Nazareth, born of a virgin called Mary, is the only Saviour and Lord and God incarnate. We believe that outside of Him there is no salvation possible (Acts 4:12). Jesus is the only mediator between God and men and the only Head of the Church, always present in her midst (1 Timothy 2:5; Matthew 18:20).
We believe the Bible to be the only authority in questions of faith and conduct and for this reason we refute all those doctrines formulated during the course of the centuries that are in contrast with its teaching (2 Timothy 3:16).
We believe that all men need the Saviour. The Bible teaches that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
The Gospel announces the Good News that God loves us and wants to save us and forgive us thanks to the work of Jesus Christ, He who died for our sins and was raised to life again for our justification.
We cannot be forgiven through our own personal efforts and merits, nor through religious practices, but only through God’s grace (Ephesians 2:8-9).

How we live

We wish to honour God and to glorify Him in our lives.
We wish to serve Him and our neighbours.
In our community there is no hierarchy or centre of power, but humility and service. From an organizational point of view, following the model described in the Acts of the Apostles, we have no “central seat” and “single leader”, but each group of believers creates and maintains brotherly communion with the other local communities in Italy and abroad. The local church is guided by a college of elders and by a group of deacons who are recognized, through the gifts they possess, by the members of the same local church.
We are all brothers. As brothers and sisters in Christ we meet regularly in all simplicity to adore God, to sing to Him, to read and meditate on the Bible, to pray. We want to show our love for one another just as Christ has done for us, in loving us.
In obedience to Jesus, every Sunday we remember His death and His resurrection in taking the bread and the wine (Luke 22:19-20).
We practise  baptism, which is administered to adults, through immersion in water, after a sincere testimony of faith by the believer who declares he/she has accepted Christ as his/her personal Saviour, for the forgiveness of his/her sins. In fact, as the Word of God teaches, faith always precedes baptism (Acts 2:41; 18:8).
